I would give these boots a two star. The lace holes are punched through into the boot. They need a double stitch behind the holes in addition to the stitching to hold the edge together. I used water repellent to insure not to get wet, but what good is that if you have a hole punched in at the bottom of the boot? POOR DESIGN
ALMOSTBAREFOOTFRIENDLY
This is almost perfect, but the sole messes it up. It's tough foam, and they put a second layer on the heel, which is the only uncomfortable thing about them. I'm trying to remove them right now. If the sole was a little wider, no heel, and rubber on the bottom these would be perfect.
ABF AFTER WEARING OUTSIDE
I bought these because I thought they would have crepe rubber bottom with no arch support or heel (according to the description and picture). The sole is SMOOTH FOAM with a heel (just a second layer of foam glued on) and no traction whatsoever, walking fast on snow, trying to speed up while running, slight inclines, and any type of moisture cause me to slip. I cut the heel off (impossible to do evenly) to eliminate the slapping sound every step and better imitate actual barefoot walking. The sole is also narrower than both the human foot and the shoe towards the toe. The suede is loose towards the front, so at least my toes are not jammed together, but the front of my foot always slides to one side and the suede gets pushed down with each step so it is bound to get wet. All these problems would be fixed by actually having a "sporty rubber sole". Only redeeming quality is comfort (and I had to cut off the heel just for that (got a scar from it)).
